This is a short pamphlet (not a book). It is about nine pages long. It is only for people who have already published on but who do not know how to use gen. If you need information on how to publish on , I recommend you look at "How To Publish on with Links and Pictures" instead, which includes information on using gen. This pamphlet, "Using gen", also includes information on using DOS and manipulating files in Windows, as gen is a DOS-like program that does not run the way most Windows programs run and you need to be able to find and copy it before you can run it. Users who are familiar with DOS and manipulating files in Windows may wish to use the "Skip to Running gen" link in the Table of Contents to skip these sections and go directly to the instructions on running gen.

I read this book in about 20 minutes. Most of it is about how to copy files in Windows and use a DOS window. It does cover a small amount of detail about using KindleGen, but I had to wade through many lines of useless information to find it. Unfortunately, Amazon doesn't appear to have much quality control in place. Apparently Amazon just wants to get as many titles for the Kindle as they can. If printed, this "book" might be as long as 8 pages, if printed on very small pages or with very large type. At 99 cents I figured I couldn't go wrong. It's hard to imagine something that only costs a dollar that isn't worth the price, but this is it. In the future, I'll use the "check it out" feature for Prime users before I buy. I'd recommend that you do the same.Product details
